Best Airline Seats
I stumbled across an interesting blog post about which is the best seat on a Boeing 747 for economy passengers. It got me thinking to find out what are the best seats to reserve on an Airbus etc.
You can read here that 46A may be the best seat on a Boing 747. This is because of the legroom, window and easy access in and out of seats.
I don’t normally think much about requesting a particular seat but tend to go for an aisle seat so it’s easy to get out of my seat without having to get past people. I remember one scarey moment though when a big guy was climbing over the seat rests to get out even though I would happily of got out of my seat. I couldn’t believe it. I was really worried what might happen if he slipped and stepped on my groin.
Another problem I get with the aisle seat is idiots that cannot walk down the aisle without scraping past every seat. sometimes it’s because they are too fat or just plain clumsy. The window seat is great at take-off and landing for the view but I would rather have my freedom to easily get out of my seat.
The worst seat I ever had was at the back near the loos. There are always people hanging around there and nudging the back of your seat. Also in economy I dread the crying child that is often right in front of my seat. It can take several hours for them to exhaust themselves and finally fall asleep.
Then there is the annoying passenger that ignores the rules of hand-luggage and somehow makes it onboard with what seems like dumbells in their baggage. I stupidly offered to help some lady lift her bag into the overhead compartment along with my stuff, only to realize it weighed so much and I was recovering from a back strain. The thought of it crushing my laptop and me helping achieve this made me mad.
I think I am beginning to understand why people pay so much more for business class.

I’ve got my own system for finding a good, er, not-so-crappy seat:

The screaming babies are the worst and hard to avoid unless you pay the money for 1rst class.
